Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my data not syncing between devices? Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and have iCloud enabled for Gripp (Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Gripp). First sync after enabling can take a few minutes.

Will my data sync to non-Apple devices (Android, web)? No. Gripp uses Apple's iCloud, which only syncs between Apple devices.

Can I back up my habits? Yes. App Settings → Data Management → Create backup. Save the JSON file somewhere safe (Files, email, cloud storage).

How do I restore from a backup? App Settings → Data Management → Restore backup, then choose the JSON file.

What happens if I delete the app? Local data is deleted from the device. If you had iCloud sync enabled, your habits remain in iCloud and reappear when you reinstall and sign in to the same Apple ID.

Why don't all health metrics show a target field? Target fields appear only for metrics where a numeric goal makes sense. Currently this is just Steps. Other metrics (heart rate, blood pressure, weight, etc.) are tracked without a target.

My streak broke even though I had Grace Day enabled. Why? Grace Day forgives ONE missed scheduled day. The streak only breaks when TWO consecutive scheduled days are both missed. Grace doesn't apply if you'd already used it on the previous miss.

Can I undo a completion? Yes. Swipe right on a habit card to undo, or tap into the calendar view to remove specific days.
